Otemae interns had the opportunity to teach Thai high school students about Japanese language and culture. To make an intercultural program successful, it takes a lot of patience, preparation, and experience, and because it was the first collaboration between our schools there were a lot of unknown variables. However, both schools began the project with open minds and acceptance of all possible outcomes. The interns learned to adapt to cultural differences in the classroom and in the broader culture.
