 note = {AA12480022, 大手前大学は、2012年度より「グランドデザイン」のもと、学生が4年間を通じて培うべき様々な能カについて明確な目標を設定し、その能力開発に向けて動いている。英語については、英語関連科目を継続して履修し単位を修得した者に対して、卒業時にはTOEIC550点以上に匹敵する英語でのコミュニケーションカを身につけさせることを最終目標としている。その実現のために初年次必修の「英語I」と「英語II」ではまずTOEIC Bridgeを受験させている。選択科目としては、従来すべての学年の希望者に対してTOEIC対策科目と、英語のみで行われる LEO(Language Education of Otemae)の科目が用意されてきた。しかし、それらとは別に、英文法や英文読解、リスニング、ライティングについて徹底した日本語での解説への学生の要望もあり、今年度より2年次学生を対象として「英語III」と「英語IV」が開講され、さらに来年度からは「英語V」と「英語VI」が増設される。本稿では、過去2年間の初年次英語についての分析を行った上で、2年次英語科目について2013年度以降に向けてさらなる授業内容改善への一案を提示する。, Otemae University states in its Grand Design that the students, through four years of English education, are to obtain the communicative ability in English equivalent to TOEIC 550 or more at the time of graduation. In order to achieve this goal, TOEIC Bridge is conducted in the compulsory English I and II for freshmen, and there are TOEIC classes for students freshman through senior who aim to improve their TOEIC scores. There are also LEO classes that are taught in English by native speakers.In addition to these classes, English III and IV started in 2012 since there had been a great demand among the students for a class that deals with movies and music with an explanation in Japanese about English grammar, text interpretation and the culture of English-speaking countries. In 2013, English V and VI will start for sophomores and upwards who are eager to enhance their English ability.In this paper, I look back on the past two years of freshman English and briefly on the contents of English III and IV, then make a proposal for a teaching method to be used in either English V or VI, where preparation for TOEIC is incorporated.},
