The initial purpose was to activate a recently established memorandum of agreement (MOA) of academic cooperation with the University of the Philippines Cebu (UPC). The project, however, became the source of not only collaborative learning (Cook-Sather et al, 2014) between the students and teachers of both universities but also of \"transformations\" wherein established perspectives are challenged requiring a critical questioning of self (Mezirow,1991). This paper describes how the service-learning project in the Philippines was organized and conducted.
